In November 2010, IHG launched the Australian hospitality industries strongest commitment to equal opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders to date, becoming the first hotel company to establish a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), recognised by Reconciliation Australia. Held within Crowne Plaza's RAP is having 2% of its Australian workforce made up of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders by 2013. Our related Indigenous Employment Program had its birthplace in our sister hotels in Kakadu.

We sponsor Red Dust Role Models who use the profiles of recognisable Australians to deliver positive health messages and inspire healthy lifestyles in remote communities. Locally, we sponsor the Tiwi Bombers and Clontarf, extending our commitment to use sport as a conduit to reinforce positive lifestyle behaviours.

We also give in-kind donations to small community associations across the Territory in excess of $250, 000 per year.
